The goal of fire prevention is to educate the public to take precautions to prevent fires.
Assistant Chief Jeffrey LeDuc manages our Junior Fire Prevention program and works closely with the students of the Newington Elementary School to have them see firefighters as people they can follow and trust. AC LeDuc has organized several events for the Elementary School children since taking over the program in November 2010. A Bicycle Rodeo, and a Fireman’s Field Day Course for the Elementary School children, a station tour are among the program’s many highlights so far.
